Recent trip to Saul Kere

I made an early morning trip to Saul Kere, recently. Some good sightings. Here are the pics...

...

...
The early morning moon...
...
The Eurasian Coot chicks are growing fast. The red colours have vanished and transforming to adult colours...
...

...
This is how they looked when I saw them a month back...
...
A gulp of Great Cormorants did a fly-past...
...
I watched a few Wood Sandpipers busy in their quest for a meal...
...

...

...
A Red-vented Bulbul did get something to eat...
...
A lone Chestnut-tailed Starling settled on top of a tree...
...
The Chestnut-tailed Starling stood still for a long time. It gave me enough time to position the moon behind it...
...
A Black-naped Oriole couple was swooping around in their usual restless way...
...

...

...
An Intermediate Egret made a weird face...
...
There was no dearth of White-cheeked Barbets...
...

...

...
Last bird of the day was this disheveled Ashy Prinia...

  2. Find the eurasian coots to be but meagerly contrasted with the colorfulness of the more tropical birds on your blog.

    1. I created the digital painting using Photoshop. It gives quite realistic output.

  9. Yes, as ever a great variety of birds. But for me, and I don't know why, the barbet steals the show. Such vivid colours and wonderful poses for a photographer to capture. Happy Weekend Shiju.
