A staycation during rainy season

It has been raining and the family wanted an outing. So we planned a staycation in a hotel just 30 minutes drive from home. We hoped to just stay indoors, use the hotel amenities and relax. Did find some birds during the 3 days stay though. Here are the pics...

It was raining as we checked in. The view from our room...
...
A pillow fight was our first activity...

...

...
We had opted an all meals package. We headed for the lunch. Rohan looked tired after the pillow fight...
...
...
Nishant was cheerful...

Rohan attended his online class...

...
I took a time lapse video of the cloudy sunrise...
...
It was nice to watch the sunrise. Rohan enjoyed watching the birds flying in flocks...
...
Saw a wedge of Ibises. Yes, a group of ibises is called a wedge, probably due to the wedge like shape they form in flight…
...
Rohan likes the bubble bath. He will lie in the tub for long and loves to show his wrinkled fingers...
...
...
Some workout at the gym...

After breakfast we played pool...

  5. It appears that you and your handsome family had a nice outing. It is always good to get away from the mundane. What luck to have a black kite so close. Great pictures.

  6. A very good idea when the weather is hopeless. You go away, but plan to stay indoors. Nice sunsets, though.

  9. What a lovely family get together you had. Seems like you all found lots to do indoors without worrying about the rain. And yes , a border will always find a bird or two wherever they are in the world.

  32. A great series of your staycation. You capture your wife so well, I love her in that grey dress! Didn't know you had two sons:) This makes you older than I thought you were, haha. That first, looks like an American breakfast. Ever tried a Swedidsh smargesboard? - I think you would like it. Even on your outing you see a bird! A great and fun post, Shiju! Emille

    1. The buffet spread was similar to Swedish smörgåsbord, a massive number of dishes from a variety of cuisines. I usually pick 5 or 6 of my favorites.

  38. Gee!!! Good looks sure run in your family!!!

Too bad about the rain but it is pretty obvious that you all had fun and enjoyed bonding throughout the lovely staycation. I sure would not mind going for one like that too but no nice hotel resorts in our little small town.

  40. What a beautiful family. We used to take a summer trip up to Toronto Canada to see a theatre show and to take the ferry out to one of the islands… I hope to do that with my grandchildren when they are a bit older…. Michelle
