Clitoria Ternatea 'White'
This genus was named after the human female clitoris, for the flowers bear a resemblance to female pudenda.

  5. Too funny and, definitely, a pretty accurate description, anatomically speaking. I've never seen the flower but, in my 21 years as a sexual assault nurse examiner, I've definitely seen the other!!

  7. I guess this flower would qualify as the yin to every phallic flower's yang.

  9. Sue's comment made me chuckle. Leave it to her to find a little comedy and an eloquent way to phrase it!

  11. I must admit I've never heard of that flower before, but it is rather pretty. I took a floral design class and there was a flower we called a little boy, but I can't remember it's true name. It will come to me after I leave this comment. I know they grow in Hawaii and you might know the one I'm talking about.

  12. Beautiful flower! And I must say it is a fascinating story of how it got its name. I'd like to see the reaction when that name was submitted to the botanical society.
