Avian life of Kaikondrahalli lake

I visited Kaikondrahalli lake after a gap of six months. This visit was quite good with some amazing bird sightings. Here's a photo tour...

A Grey Heron is a tale of patience. It waits and waits for a fish to come by...

The beautiful surroundings...

Juvenile Brahminy Kite...

A White-breasted Kingfisher was seen perched far away...

Pond Heron wasn't having much luck with fishing...

All over, it was the same story...

Then luck smiled on the pond herons in the form of dragonflies...

Catching dragonflies seemed much easier compared to the toil for fish...

Life started looking up...

Painted Stork...

Grey-headed Swamphen...

Spot-billed Pelican...

Bronze-winged jacana is a beautiful wader with stunning plumage...

The bronze-winged jacana breeds in India and southeast Asia...

They feed on insects picked from the floating vegetation or the water surface...

Juvenile Great Cormorant...

White-cheeked Barbet...

White-breasted kingfisher...

The joy of fishing...
