Kaikondrahalli lake visit

Last Sunday morning, we went on a quick trip to Kaikondrahalli lake in Bangalore. Due to some other engagements, we could spend only one hour at the lake. 
Here are some photos... 







It was exciting to see a Hoopoe...


Hoopoes are colourful birds notable for their distinctive "crown" of feathers...





Grey Heron...

A Great Cormorant was seen diving in search of fish...


It succeeded in catching a big one...

  10. The Hoopoe is very interesting. I loved the crest when I spied it in the first collage photo. Nice reflective shot of the Heron and the Cormorant eating is a great one!! Thanks for linking up today and always.

So many amazing photos, it's hard to decide which I like best...my sport-fisherman father would have loved the Great Cormorant with its neck-stretching catch, and I can never resist a squirrel of any sort, but those stripes are wonderful. The reflection of the Intermediate Egret is outstanding, however! What a beautiful, beautiful blog post!

  22. That Hoopoe looks like a prehistoric bird. We just watched the movie Jurassic Park and I think I saw him in the movie! heehee! Love that cute little squirrel and amazing photos of the Cormorant eating! Enjoy your weekend!
