Our passion fruit vine started fruiting around August...
New flowers were blooming and turning into fruits...
By mid September our vine was heavily laden with fruits. We were expecting them to ripen by October when the weather is supposed to be warm and conducive for ripening...
As luck would have it, there was rain in October and Bangalore turned unusually chilly...
The intermittent rain and chill continued...
If the weather turns cold, the fruits may not turn yellow. Our wait for the fruits to ripen in these past three months was like watching paint dry...
We finally decided to cut open a green fruit to see if it is edible. To our surprise it tasted good although not totally sweet...
Our wait continues...
I love passion fruit. I"ve never seen it growing, however. The juice is quite tasty mixed with vodka or rum. Manju looks like a model for the passion fruit industry.

I love your photos. I have never tried passion fruit. I have seen the passion flower before here, but I did not know that it was part of a plant with fruit! Now I am going to look for a passion fruit in my grocers.

DeleteI have never seen the inside of that fruit either -- we do have passion flowers here in Florida (but we don't garden ourselves) so I have never tasted the fruit. I will have to look for them ; someone must sell them somewhere. A fun post.
