I have been clicking less pictures during my current stay in Kerala. This place is irresistible with greenery everywhere. But Kerala has left me deeply dissatisfied because of the almost nonexistent sidewalks for pedestrians.
Yesterday, I finally gathered some courage and went for my first morning walk. Walking along the main road was terrifying. The vehicles were racing just inches away from me.
The small roads are even more terrifying with just enough roadway for two vehicles to cross each other without hitting.
There were photo opportunities all along...
Finally, this river side made all the risk pretty worthwhile...
lovely pics Shiju ! And yes you need courage to walk along the roads in kerala ...esp with the private busses competing with each other ....
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are just wow! Which camera?
ReplyDeleteWonderful pics, and do be careful on Kerala roads!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photography, Shiju, but, for heavens sake, be careful. You've spent enough time as a hospital patient, in case you've forgotten and now you have two little boys to inspire!!! When do you return to Bangalore?
ReplyDeleteI will return to Bangalore when the mother and baby eases into something resembling a routine. Also, some ceremonies that requires my presence will keep me here for sometime.
DeleteI like the presentation : the tension grows from one pic to another, till we discover this actually superb green water reflection... Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteLovely pics ! You have managed to capture the 'green' of Kerala !

ReplyDeleteThanks for showing us a bit from your walk. It looks lovely there!
Kerala seems to have some lovely views, what a shame that there are no sidewalks for pedestrians. Beautiful pictures, take care and put your safety first.

ReplyDeleteRoads that curve always invite closer inspection---especially when shadows are involved!

Wonderful pictures! Remember to always walk facing traffic when there are no sidewalks.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is beautiful. I would be scared of that road, too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday!

I have walked along roads such as you show here, and it can truly feel (and be!) life threatening. On the other hand, you sure captured some beautiful scenery shots!
ReplyDeleteThe green reflections in the water are captivating. Too bad they don't have adjacent hiking trails.
ReplyDeleteNice photos especially the first one ;-)
ReplyDeleteI can tell you have been taking less pictures since I had alredy visited this same post last week. Hope you are having a great time.
ReplyDeleteLush and green. Really lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteThe scattering of red leaves along the roadway makes a perfect accent.

It does look pretty there. I know when I lived in Atlanta, Georgia I had problems with the little to no sidewalk thing. I took the bus everywhere, and I was always worried about getting ran over when I was walking.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful place..made even more so by those fallen orange leaves. Thanks for sharing on Mandarin Orange Monday:)
ReplyDeleteNarrow roads are a challenge but looks like it was worth it. Lovely photos as always.
