Lalbagh Botanical Gardens is currently hosting the Bangalore Flower show 2022 after a 2 year pandemic break. There were some native and foreign flowers on display. Armed with a 100 mm macro and a 300 mm telephoto lens, I visited last Sunday morning. Here are the pics...

It was drizzling when I reached Lalbagh. I was lucky to sight a faint rainbow, as the sun peeped out from behind the clouds...

There were Garden verbena in various colors...
Sharp fabulous shots! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pleasing display of photos overflowing with wonderful flowers, and all starting with that lovely view of a rainbow over the gardens. You managed to capture a shot of that illusive Dianthus butterfly, but I do love the wild looking Banksia. I've never seen one before. Cute squirrels, interesting birds... you managed to have quite a busy and beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so beautiful - I can't pick a favorite!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! My favorites are sunflowers. To me, the best part of summer are the abundance of flowers and fresh vegetables.
ReplyDeleteYou sure did take the right lenses. Absolutely gorgeous photography!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely time you must have had. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat a selection of great photos!

What great photos of all those different flowers.
ReplyDeleteI also love to see the white-throated kingfisher and squirrel.
Greetings Irma
Amazing flowers, great photography
ReplyDeleteThe colours of the rainbow were a very fitting welcome to a flower show.
ReplyDeleteThat rainbow is beautiful and these flowers are gorgeous!! Thanks so much for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteI love close ups of flowers and these are simply stunning!
ReplyDeleteSuperb photographs, Shiju. You've highlighted the beauty of each of those flowers (and the sad squirrel and the pretty kingfishers, too. :))
ReplyDeleteI've heard so much about the Lalbagh flower show but I don't know why I never went and checked it out. haha! Thank you for the sights from there. :)
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI love the rainbow and all the beautiful flowers. Great captures of the Kingfisher, Cormorant and the cute squirrel. Your photos are stunning. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
...a fabulous collection of garden delights.
ReplyDeleteHow special to start the day with that gorgeous rainbow! And you take the best photos up close. You get such good focus, I know I could learn a lot from you! The Kingfisher is neat in flight too! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea to explore a flower show. I love some of those exotic blooms, quite weird and wonderful especially the Silver Brunia and the Banksia. I knew you would find some birds though!
ReplyDeleteThe zinnia bud, the dianthus butterfly, the phlox so different from mine now blooming. . .all stopped me . . . but my favorite shot was the garden cosmos. It evoked peace and calm and beauty. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteJust great pictures! Wow! The flowers and the birds are just fantastic...

Hi Shiju, Wow, as I scrolled through your post I had to stop at every picture and admire your capture. You are as great with the flowers as you are with the critters. The squirrel did look a bit sad, but your capture is spot on with the focus. This was my first time to see the White-throated Kingfisher ... what a beautiful bird! We are all lucky that you share your wonderful work. Thank you, take care, and have a great day! John
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous bloom! And you saw it well: the dianthus really looks like a butterfly. You could also discover some animals outside the glass house. Do you really think the squirrels look sad? Maybe they were just tired? Great as always, your photos!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I am also showing plants from India today, more precisely, an collage with a few photos of a butterfly garden in India. This is because I am taking part in a blog parade that has the theme "tropical-exotic". For you this sight is probably quite normal, for me and for most of my readers it is something very special and just "exotic" :-)
Happy weekend and all the best

Amazing captures of the beauties!
ReplyDeleteThe white throated kingfisher is absolutely beautiful (in flight). And the flowers?? Extraordinary...and yes, the missing petals make it look like a new species of butterfly.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday to you, and thanks for linking with us at I'd Rather B Birdin' this week!
THE FLOWERS ARE FANTASTIC AND SO ARE BIRDS, NICE AND THROUGHOUT.
ReplyDeleteSome flowers are well known, like the Fuchsia for example. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful rainbow to start off your day. Love the picture of the rainbow and the garden. So many beautiful flowers to enjoy in this post. Love the birds and the cute squirrel.

ReplyDeletewow. lots of beauty in todays post. Both flowers and birds.Seems hard to pick a favorite :)
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos so colourful and vibrant again
ReplyDeleteHave a bloomingtastic week 👍
So dazzling. A bonanza of blooms! It is like looking at the flowers under a microscope, they are so crisp.
ReplyDeleteWow! Stunning & colourful, pure eyecandy! If I ought to pick a favourite, they would be the two Ageratum photos, divine. And the kingfisher goes to the colour scheme!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty, what a beauty!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought - what? no birds?? But I kept on scrolling, and saw them. Beautiful and magnificent flowers by the way - it must be a sinch (cinch?), since they don't keep moving like birds. The brown kingfisher looks rather demure compared to the first one:) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Incredible photography!
ReplyDeleteSuch a delightful feast for the eyes 🌼💐🌷🌺🌹🌻
Stunning pictures -- I'm glad the show was able to come back this year. I can't pick a favorite, every picture seems more beautiful than the one before and the first one was more than perfect. Thanks for the tour of all this beauty.
ReplyDeleteOh My...stunning as usual photography. Like the little Kingfisher. And the delicate Rose. Well okay, I like them all. :)
