Motichur Laddoo

Motichur Laddoos are one of the most popular Indian desserts served at just about any special occasion.

The uniqueness of this dessert is in the tiny delicate motichur
(crumbled pearls) made from Bengal gram flour and semolina.

You can try making Motichur Laddoos at home.
Here's the recipe by Tarla Dalal

  8. I've had them through my Bhutanese who were in the Nepal refugee area. The ones they have given me were WAY too sweet. Maybe they are different in different Asian grocery stores, but they sure grabbed me the wrong way. They are such wonderful people, and I can't ever complain. Good photo though.

  10. They look quite beautiful, Shiju. I haven't had them but, in almost every novel I read about India, a laddu is consumed at some time or other.
