My recent visit to Hennagara lake near Bangalore was absolutely worth the early morning long drive. Hennagara lake is one of the largest lakes in Bangalore and the habitat hosts many interesting native and migratory birds. Here are some of the birds I saw...
Blue-tailed bee-eater...
Little egret...
A Pied Kingfisher caught a fish...
He showed-off the catch to his friend before gorging...
Purple-rumped sunbird...
A Praying mantis sat on my friend's lens...
Yellow-billed Babbler...
Jerdon's Bushlark...
Duranta erecta, also known as Golden dewdrop and pigeon berry...
Rosy Starling...
Rosy starling is a regular winter visitor to India. They migrate from France, UK and Ireland...

We are working with them for stories like these to create awareness about migrant birds and common birds around lake in this part of city and motivate kids and elders about it.
