I had an enjoyable morning at Kaikondrahalli lake. This was the first birding trip there since October, 2019. Here are some pics from the brief visit...

An Indian Spot-billed duck was roosting in peg-legged stance while keeping the other leg tucked up into its body feathers for warmth...

The Pink Snakeweed plants were in bloom. They are butterfly host plants. The flowers were looking gorgeous...

DeleteCan't imagine the Great Cormorants nesting high in a tree. They must be strong trees. Beautiful butterfly. I love the way most butterflies are two-sided pattern-wise. I am happy to see you got to expand your travels. I bet it felt liberating. Oh...pretty flower too.

ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your photographs, Shiju and this week is no exception! The dry trees are so striking, and the birda are so beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the Kingfishers and the Brahminy Kites. We have Kites that fly over our house - they live in the fields and trees nearby - but they are nowhere near as beautiful as the ones you photographed. They must be 'ordinary Kites'! Thank you for sharing and for being a part of the Hearth and Soul Link Party community.

ReplyDeleteA very productive trip...I have a soft spot for ducks and those have such pretty markings but are similar to our mallards except only wood ducks here perch in trees...Michelle
