Common names: Night flowering jasmine, Coral Jasmine,Sewali, Shefali, Paarijaat
The fragrant flowers bloom at dusk and fall to the earth at dawn.
Extracts of the seeds, flowers and leaves possesses immunostimulant, hepatoprotective, antileishmanial, antiviral and antifungal activities in vitro.
The leaves have been used in Ayurvedic medicine for sciatica, arthritis, fevers, and various painful conditions and as laxative.

One of my favorite flowers. I had it planted under my windows when I lived in Tampa, FL...of course, I never had the windows opened except in winter...since it was always so hot...but never as hot as Jaipur this past June.
