A warbler was seen. I couldn't identify the exact variant. I get confused with the Covid variants too...

A female Asian Koel gets tempted seeing the ripe papaya fruits. I watched her relish the sweet fruit...

I saw around 50 Western Yellow Wagtails foraging in the grass...

A Long-tailed Shrike...

A Zitting Cisticola...

A juvenile Brahminy Kite...

And the last sighting was a Grey Francolin couple. They get easily perturbed, so avoided going closer to take a better shot. I was happy with just the sighting and the record shot...

The yellow on the Yellow-wattled Lapwing is so bright. The European Hoopoo is one of my most want-to-see birds. Love seeing the pictures of this one. The Asian Koel reminds me of a reptile.

ReplyDeleteYou always give us a wealth of photos Shiju. And lots to think about. Of course I am a great fan of Hoopoes and could sit for ages watching their antics. I never did get great views of Koels - they seemed to hide away a lot, at least for me. I think you warbler is a pipit but I'm struggling to name it as the bill looks small and the legs short. Perhaps a Blyth's Pipit?

Lovely photos of a great variety of birds! I particularly like your photos of the hoopoe, a bird I've seen, though only once! The yellow wattled lapwing is a very unusual looking bird!
