Beautiful Morning glory plant is spreading wildly...

A Purple heron caught my attention next...

Some Indian Spot-billed Ducks were floating serenely on the water with some occasional flutter...

Three Chestnut-tailed Starlings were seen next. I saw 8 of these migrants perched atop a dry tree...

A White-cheeked barbet on the same tree...

A Rose-ringed Parakeet also made a visit to the same tree...

...
A Green Bee-eater was seen justifying its name...
...
Before swallowing, it removes stings and breaks the exoskeleton of the prey by repeatedly thrashing it on the perch...
...
...
The bees are caught in the air by making sorties from an open perch...
...
...
Then saw a couple together...
...
Water lilies in the calm water show great reflection...
...
I searched in the foliage of a large Ficus tree using my binocular. I was delighted to see a Spotted Owlet hidden in the high branches...

I saw another Indian Spot-billed Duck couple...

Hello Shiju,:=) The number of beautiful birds you find to photograph, is just amazing. Your photography is outstanding. The Green Bee Eater series is so lovely, love the one in flight, and the two perched side by side on a branch. The purple Heron, and the 3 Chestnut Tailed Starlings are my next favourites, but as you must know by now, I enjoy seeing all the birds and other nature images you share, but perhaps, not the snake!!

ReplyDeleteThe bee-eaters are beautiful. I'm glad I don't have to remove stingers before my meals, but I suppose it is like cracking a nut. Great shots!

ReplyDelete...I'm not a fan of snakes, but the Checkered keelback snake is quite a sight! The Purple heron caught my attention too. I love the Indian Spot-billed Duck fluttering its wings. The Green Bee-eater certainly justifies its name. The Spotted Owlet is a delight. The Indian Spot-billed Duck couple is a wonderful sighting.

I loved them all, but I have 3 Chestnut-tailed Starlings were sitting well and the Green Bee-eater, absolutely blows my senses.
